ORTHODONTISTS
There is a choice of male or female orthodontists. The leading three partners are all registered with the general dental council as orthodontic specialists. We all comply with relevant legislation
and quality assurance procedures.
Suzanne Barlow BDS, FDS RCS, MSc, M Orth RCS

Suzanne graduated as a dentist in 1990 from King’s College School of Medicine and Dentistry in London. After spending several years in children’s dentistry, she gained further experience in oral
and maxillofacial surgery and then general dentistry. She is a Fellow in Dental Surgery of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. Her orthodontic postgraduate qualifications were awarded by the
University of London and Royal College of Surgeons of England following 3 years specialist training at King’s. She came to Bristol in 1999 and founded Smile Solution with her partners in
2004. Suzanne practices in Bristol and Chepstow.
Helen Leach BDS, FDS RCS, MSc, M Orth RCS

Helen qualified in dentistry in 1991 from Guy’s and St Thomas’s United Medical and Dental Hospitals in London. She then spent 2 years in general dentistry, before working in oral and maxillofacial
surgery and gaining a Fellowship in Dental Surgery. She moved to Bristol in 1995 to take up a post in restorative and children’s dentistry and in 1999 she gained specialist qualifications in
orthodontics from the University of Bristol and Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. She is now one of the founding partners of Smile Solution. Helen practices in Bristol.
Joseph McGill BDS, MSc, FDS RCPS, M Orth RCS, MSc

Joe graduated in 1992 from the University of Glasgow and remained in the city for vocational training in general dentistry. A year of study at Newcastle Dental School then led to a Masters Degree
(MSc) in Restorative Dentistry in 1994. During a further two years in the hospital system he gained a Fellowship in Dental Surgery achieving the award for best performance in those examinations for
1995. In 1996 Joseph was appointed a specialist registrar at Bristol Dental Hospital and completed his Membership in Orthodontics there in 1999 and a further Masters Degree by Research in 2000.
Joseph has worked in Bristol since 1999 and is now a partner in Smile Solution. He practices in Bristol.
Heidi Rowland BDS, MFDS RCS, M Orth RCS, DDS

Heidi finished her general dental training at Guy's Hospital in 1997. After a year in general practice she worked for the following four years in the hospital dental service.
Appointments included children's dentistry, special needs dentistry, restorative dentistry and oral and maxillofacial surgery. She completed her formal three year post-graduate
orthodontic training at the University of Bristol in 2005, where she was awarded the 3M Unitek prize and the Harry Orton Memorial prize. Since then, Heidi has worked in specialist practice
and joined Smile Solution in 2009. Heidi practices in Chepstow.
